P.A.L.S. (praying and loving sisters)

Wednesday Evenings @ 6:30 in CCY North Building

PALS, a small group of women of varying ages, stands for Praying And Loving

Sisters. We are committed to  building a supportive environment where each

member can grow towards spiritual maturity, according to the Word of God. We

are also dedicated to providing a safe environment where members can grow

together in fellowship, being encouraged in their daily walk. The following two

passages provide a scriptural foundation for this ministry.

1 Thessalonians 5:11

“Therefore encourage one another and build  up one another, just as you  also are doing.”

  ~Galatians 6:2

“Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.”

Our Goals:

1. Create a spiritually and emotionally safe environment.

2. Create a positive environment where people want to come to be encouraged.

3. Support one another in prayer.

4. Apply Bible truth to our lives.

5. Equip each member to go out and minister the gospel.

Our Objectives:

1. Maintain a safe environment by limiting drama and ensuring confidentiality.

2. Keep meetings light hearted and fun even as we tackle tough subjects.

3. Create an atmosphere where participants feel safe bringing up prayer requests and then

encourage members to pray for one another.

4. Develop close, personal relationships within the group.

5. Engage in Bible discussion that encourages us to grow in knowledge of scripture and helps us apply it to our lives so we can grow into mature Christians.

WOMENS GROUPS

SMALL GROUPS

building Christian community

CCY Small Groups are small gatherings (3-20 people) that meet weekly during the school year for fellowship, prayer and often Bible study, but the overall emphasis is always on CARING for one another.  The best way to not get lost as “just another number” in a growing church is to plug in to one of these groups where brothers and sisters in Christ keep track of one another.  They meet on different days at different times and in different places.

Are Small Groups Biblical?

In the book of Acts, Luke records the tremendous growth of the first church in Jerusalem. Small groups meeting in homes were the foundation of the early church. Acts 5:42 tells us that the people met "in the temple courts" (large group worship) and "from house to house" (small group fellowship). Jesus did much of his ministry in homes (Matthew 8:14). Early Christians continued to meet in small groups for fellowship, study and discipleship.

Why are Small Groups important at Christ's Church?

In a church with many members and attendees, it is often easy to feel unconnected and anonymous. Care Groups provide a place for people to connect and form relationships that help give life and vitality to their experience in the church family.
