Christ's Closet
Providing Free Clothing, Meals, and Community Support
Welcome to Christ's Closet
Our History
Christ's Closet was founded in October 2015, initially serving 4 families. Over time, attendance has grown significantly, with approximately 35 families visiting each month, and some events attracting up to 1,000 people. This growth necessitated an expansion from a small classroom to a larger room and a 40-foot storage container. Additionally, we have dedicated a classroom full of toys and gifts for our annual Christmas Extravaganza.
Programs and Activities
Christ's Closet offers a welcoming place for people in the community and surrounding areas to get free clothing, meals, and prayer. This ministry also includes fun crafts for children while their parents shop. We operate on the first Saturday of each month from 11 am-2 pm, with no income information required to shop.
Monthly Events
Free clothing, meals, and crafts for kids. The closet is open on the first Saturday of every month from 11-2 pm. All are welcome to get what they need. The closet also takes donations during these hours and offers crafts for the kids while the parents "shop".
Back to School Bash (Aug)
Free haircuts, backpacks, school supplies, and new underwear for kids.
Christmas Extravaganza
Shopping for new/gently used gifts for children and parents. Special meals, hot cocoa, crafts, and face painting.
Support Our Mission
Volunteer
Become a part of our dedicated volunteer team! Led by Ryan and Shera Porter, Christ's Closet relies on an average of 20 volunteers each month and 50-75 for our larger events. Our volunteers come from various churches and the local community, all working together to support our mission. Christ's Closet thrives because of our dedicated volunteers. We offer numerous opportunities for you to get involved, including greeting visitors, handling registration, sorting clothes, assisting in the kitchen, overseeing the kids' craft section, helping shoppers, setting up and tearing down events, and most importantly, sharing God's love.
